For Our Playhouse Preschool, I liked the idea of a flowering tree as a nurturing/growth symbol which also reflects the school's emphasis on natural outdoor experiences. The tireswing was added to emphasize the belief of Our PlayHouse in play-based learning for young children.
In designing the sign to scale, I thought it would be nice to echo the roof line in the shape of the sign:
