It's always difficult to follow in the steps of another designer! Previous designer had created an appealing, successful series of logos using the initial letters of each Jane Austen novel and I was assigned #6 (Northanger Abbey & Frankenstein). The year's theme was "200 Years of Horror", so I used classic Gothic horror elements and grey tones.
